Troubleshooting Performance Issues on your end.

Network Test

To determine your connection performance you may use a Speed test tool.

 

1.       https://www.speedtest.net or https://speedtest.centurylink.com

 

 

Results will display Download and Upload Speed.  The speed will be relative to your Service Provider (CenturyLink or Comcast, etc.).

If you experience any issues with slower than expected results and at least a minimum of 1Mbps you may need to contact your provider.

 

 

 

Antivirus

 

Check the status of any local Antivirus Program. 

 

1.       A scheduled Antivirus Scan may affect the performance of your local system during certain times.

 

Wifi

 

Check the Wi-Fi Signal. 

 

1.       Verify the Wi-Fi signal Strength.

2.       Having Wi-Fi may not mean Internet Access.  Check with a physical Network Cable and monitor internet performance.

1.       Can you view a Video without buffering or pauses?  A Remote connection is very similar to watching a video as the Connection is continuously updated.
